习主席下周将访问美国

Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay his first state visit to the United States from Tuesday to Friday next week.

President Barack Obama invited Xi in February. Obama visited China in November last year, and in June 2013, the two held an informal summit at the Sunnylands estate in California.

Xi's visit will present an opportunity to expand cooperation on a range of global, regional, and bilateral issues of mutual interest. The two leaders will also be able to address areas of disagreement constructively.

Xi will then visit the UN headquarters in New York at the invitation of Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

He will attend a series of summits, from September 26–28, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the UN.
