The Euro 2016 Championships may still be at the qualifying stages, but no major tournament is complete without a mascot. And on Tuesday, tournament organisers UEFA unveiled the mascot that they hope will capture the public's imagination ahead of France's friendly against Sweden.

The young French superhero - proudly wearing his number 16 shirt - entered the stadium to a noisy reception from fans gathered for the friendly. Staging a mock kick-off before the real business got underway, the mascot later demonstrated his footballing skills at half-time and did a lap of the stadium to introduce himself to the crowd.

The mascot will be appearing at key events in the build-up to the event and will be present at all the tournament matches in France. But despite his grand unveiling, the new face of Euro 2016 will remain nameless until November 30th when the results of a public competition will be announced.
