美终裁对中国光伏产品征收双反关税
The US has confirmed steep import duties on solar products from China in a decision that may inflame trade tensions.
Anti-dumping duties for Chinese goods were set as high was 165.04 percent. Separate 38 percent anti-subsidy duties are also imposed on Chinese producers. Producers from the Taiwan region also face anti-dumping duties as high as 27.55 percent.
China Photovoltaic Society Director Zhao Yuwen said as more batteries are processed in China's Taiwan because of lower costs, the US Department of Commerce included Taiwan solar products into the penalty this time.
This is the second time since 2012 that the US has imposed anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties on Chinese solar products. The US official data shows such US imports were worth 1.5 billion US dollars in 2013, half the level of 2011.
The duties must still be confirmed by the US International Trade Commission, which will make its final decision by January 29th, 2015.
