香港运钞车掉落1500多万现金
They say money doesn’t fall from the sky, but apparently it does from the back of vans. It was quite the scene on a busy road in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
15 million Hong Kong dollars’ worth of bills flew out of an armored cash carrier, bringing traffic to a halt as people scrambled to grab what they could. Initial findings suggest a malfunction of the vehicle’s rear door is to blame.
Authorities say they will use the serial numbers to trace back the missing money. Police have urged people who picked up the cash to return it as soon as possible. Police warn that otherwise they could face up to 10 years in jail for theft. As of Thursday afternoon, 4.8 million dollars have already been turned in.
