韩国空军将继续为期两周的空中演练
The South Korean Air Force is continuing its detailed aerial exercises involving indigenous fighter jets at an air base in Cheongju, about 150 kilometres south of the capital city, Seoul. It's part of its efforts to evaluate and improve its strategic and combat capabilities.
The exercise, "Soaring Eagle", began on Monday for a two-week stretch. The air force says the drill aims at boosting its capabilities of blocking an enemy's surprise infiltration and destroying their key military assets.
The exercise has mobilized some 40 planes of nine types, equipped with the most advanced weaponary systems, including F-15K and KF-16 fighters, as well as 320 service members. The list also involves two FA-50s for the first time.
