韩国庆祝停战62周年

South Korea is marking the 62nd anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended the Korean War.

South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn delivered a speech on Monday pressing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons program. He called on Pyongyang to work together with South Korea for co-prosperity. He made the comments at a large ceremony in Seoul that brought together Korean War veterans.

It was the country's third official annual celebration of the armistice and the participation of United Nations forces in the war since South Korea designated July 27th as UN Forces Participation Day in 2013.
