国际足联丑闻回顾
Late last year, FIFA's ethics committee gave current president Sepp Blatter an 8-year ban, along with EUFA head Michel Platini. They were handed those punishments for a so-called loyal payment of about two-million dollars, given to Platini for consulting work.
The money was given years after the fact, and no contract for the transaction was made -- implying that it was not above board. And the former head of South Korea's F.A. Chung Moon-Joon was given a 6-year ban from football for corruption. He also was trying to run for the FIFA presidency, but his suspension makes him ineligible.
More punishments could be on the way -- as 18 individuals, including nine FIFA officials have been charged in the probe that has turned the world governing body on its ear.
