“中国功夫之夜”震撼哈拉雷
A Chinese troupe has brought Kung Fu performances to Zimbabwe. It is part of a cultural exchange program and has attracted many fans.
It is the stuff blockbuster movies are made of. And definitely not something you should try at home. Kung fu is popular in Zimbabwe, thanks to numerous films. Many locals have taken up the martial art. And some have been lucky enough to share the stage with some true masters of the craft.
A troupe that hails from China’s Henan province—the home of the Shaolin monks, who practise this art form—is in Zimbabwe as part of cultural exchange program.
"Art has no boundary. People-to-people exchange is very important. By understanding each other, by appreciating the arts of each other’s country we get to know each other better,” said Huang Ping, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe.
