电动车队抵达中国
11 international teams using electric vehicles are one month into an 80-day tour around the world. The teams arrived in south China’s Guangzhou city earlier this week, where they attended a ceremony to mark the beginning of their journey through China.

They started on June 16th from the Spanish city of Barcelona and have already passed through Portugal, Canada and the US. The teams arrive in China on July 14th.
The challenge will cover a distance of over 25,000 kilometers. The route can be defined by the teams themselves, but has to pass through some preset checkpoints across 20 countries in Europe, America and Asia.
Chinese team captain Zong Yi says it’s not an easy journey, but he’s happy to do something great like this.
"I took part in this challenge to tell people that a new era of wonder has come. I feel good, I made more friends and had some experience that I ever had before," said Zong Yi, Chinese Team Captain of 80 E-Days around the World.
Participants hope the activity can also help increase people’s awareness of the need for environmental protection.
"The purpose of our trip is to go around the world for kids, fresh air and for the planet," said Tomas Vincent, Czech Team of 80 E-Days around the World.
The audience is impressed by such an adventure.
"I never thought of the possibility of the tour, I was surprised. I heard the teams have met a lot of difficulties but have overcome them. They really did a good job."
Over the coming days, the teams will pass through other Chinese cities including Hangzhou and Xi’an, before heading abroad and further west to Kazakhstan and Russia. They hope to hit the finish line back in Barcelona in early September
