考点9  考查不用冠词的固定搭配

正如有些固定搭配必须要用冠词一样，有些固定搭配则必须不用冠词，这类搭配也非常多。下面略举几例：

after school 放学后                           after class 下课后

go to bed 睡觉                                    in bed 躺在床上

day by day日复一日                          by chance 意外地

by mistake 无意地板                         for example例如

in case 以防万一                               in fact 事实上

【考例】Mary has a bad cold. She has to stay in ________ bed.

A. a                        B. 不填                  C. the                     D. an

【分析】答案选B。in bed为固定搭配，其意为“在床上”，其前不用冠词。但是，若将其中的介词in改为on，则必须要用冠词，如说成on the bed, on a bed之类的。比较：Don’t read in bed. / Don’t read on the bed. 不要躺在床上看书。

【考例1】—Excuse me, what’s in ________ box?

—There’s ________ red apple and ________ orange in it.

【分析】答案选D。第一空填定冠词，表特指，即特指大家心目中都知道的那个盒子；第二空和第三空均填不定冠词，表泛指。再根据第二、三空后的单词读音可知，第二空填a，第三空填an。

【考例2】—What do you usually do after school?(http://www.hxen.net/)

—We usually play ________ soccer for half ________ hour on ________ playground.

【分析】答案为A。第一空后的soccer表示球类运动，其前不用冠词，故可排除B和D；第二空的hour读音以元音开头，故用an，故可排除C。
