“of + 抽象名词”的用法说明

“of＋抽象名词”的用法与形容词用法相同，在句中可作表语、定语、补语。在抽象名词(如use, value, help, importance, difference等)前面可用little, some, any, no, great, not much 等修饰；有的可用同根形容词代替，如：

It’s of no practical use to me. 这对我没什么实际用途。

The work I am doing is not of much value. 我做的工作没有多大价值。

She felt that most of what she learned in the course was of no practical use. 她感到她在课上学到的大部分知识都没有实际用途。

Today’s elections are of no great importance in themselves. 今天的选举本身并不是很重要。

The economics of national growth are of the greatest importance to all modern governments. 国民经济增长的情况对所有现代政府至关重要。
