Photo Gallery>>(BEIJING, Mar. 19) -- In the opening game of the men's Group A preliminary round at the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Water Polo China Open held on the afternoon of March 19 at Ying Tung Natatorium, the Chinese national team outplayed the Shanghai team (CSH) 14-5 (4-0, 4-2, 2-1, 4-2).

The Chinese national team showed strong ability by making four long shots at the beginning of the first period.

In the second period, the Chinese national team was still had the upper hand and made several shots. Along with three scores made by No.6 Tan Feihu, No.10 Xie Junmin and No. 3 Wu Zhiyu, the Chinese team extended its lead to 7-0. Shanghai's Guo Jianli and Zhang Jian successfully made two shots and changed the score into 7-2. In the last ten seconds, the Chinese national team's No. 8, Wang Yong, launched a shot and broke the gate again.

Both of the teams slowed down in the third period. The Chinese national team made two goals, while Shanghai made only one.

In the final period, both teams reshuffled, and intense competition ensued. The Chinese national team's No.5, Li Jun, broke the gate first, following by a fight by the Shanghai team with two goals. With the absence of six key players, Shanghai finally lost the match 5-14.
