W: Taxi.
W：出租车。

M: Yes. Where would you like to go?
M：到哪里？

W: Central Park, please, but can you make a stop at Union Square? I wanna pick up my friend there.

W：中央公园，但请你先在联合广场停一下，我要接一位朋友。

M: Of course.
M：好的。

W: How long do you think it will take to get to Union Square.
W：联合广场需要多长时间？

M: Well. That depends on traffic, you know. It's pretty heavy this afternoon.

M：嗯，您知道那得看交通情况而定，今天下午的交通相当拥挤。

W: Can you make it in 15 mins. I am already 10 mins late.
W：能不能在15分钟内赶到？我已经迟了10分钟。

M：好，我会尽量。你的朋友在具体什么位置？

W: On the 14th Street side. Oh, we are already at the 16th Street. You are fast. Can you make a left at the next corner?

W：在靠第14街那边，啊，我们已经到第16街了，你开得真快。请在下一个街角向左转。

M: You've got it.
M：好的。

W: I think he is around here. Can you slow down? Ah, there he is.
W：我想他就在这附近，能不能慢一点。啊，他在那儿！

M: Here we are, Central Park!
M：中央公园到了。

W: Thank you. How much is it?
W：谢谢，多少钱？

M: Well, it's $12.
M：12元。

W: Here's $15. Keep the change.
W：这是15元，不用找零了。

M: Thank you.
M：谢谢。

注释：

1. 词组“pick up sb.”或“pick sb. up”都表示“开车去接某人”；但“pick up”还可以表示“追女孩子”，如前面的“pick up girls”就是“追女孩子”的意思。

2. 句子“that depends on the traffic”的意思是“那得看交通状况而定”。词组“depend on”表示“取决于，依赖，依靠”。
