W: I've been told that you are a very successful businessman abroad. I wonder how you managed to achieve such success?
W：我听说您在海外是一位非常成功的商人，我想知道您是怎么获得这样的成功的。

M: Oh, through a lot of hard work, of course.
M：哦，当然是通过大量艰辛的工作了。

W: I suppose that in a foreign country it was difficult at first, wasn't it?

W：我觉得在一个陌生的国家创业初期肯定很难，对吧？

M: Surely it was, especially when you only knew few people and little English.

M：那是肯定的，尤其是当你认识的人很少，并且对英文几乎一窍不通的时候。

W: You mean you didn’t know much English then?
W：您的意思是您当时不懂多少英语？

M: Right. I only knew a few English sentences.

M：是的…我只知道几个英文句子。

W: That's incredible. Could you tell me what you did to make a start?

W：真是不可思议！您能告诉我你是怎么起家的吗？

M: First, I worked as a servant.

M：最初我的工作是当一名佣人。

W: Really? I wish you could tell me more about your experience.

W：真的？我希望你能告诉我更多关于你的经历。

M: I'd like to, but I must run to a meeting.
M：我很乐意，但是我必须要赶去参加一个会议。

“manage to do sth.”的意思是“设法做成某事”。
