Boy: What kind of note are you taking there. That looks like doodle to me.
你这是在记什么笔记，在我看来好像是涂鸦。

Girl: It's picture association of the concept that the professor taught today.
也这是今天教授讲课根关出的示意图。

Boy: Does that actually work for you?  
那真的对你有用？

Girl: I don't really know for sure yet. I'll tell you after the test on Friday.
我还不晓得成果如何，等到周五考试完我就可以告诉你。
 
Boy: I like to use shorthand note taking.  
我做笔记时喜欢使用速记。

Girl: I was told once that the more time you spend writing, the less you are paying attention and so you miss stuff.
有人曾说你花越多时间做笔记，你越无法专心听课，然后就会错过重点。

Boy: Hmm. I never thought about it that way.
嗯，我从来都没想到这点。

Girl: One time I tried just listening, no notes, no pictures. I think I really learned more that day.
有一次我尝试只听，不做笔记，也不画图，我觉得那天真的学到比较多。
