Boy:I met a guy on the train today from Ireland and we had the most interesting discussion about music.

Girl:An Irishman in Shanghai? That's different. What did he have to say?
在上海的爱尔兰人？那还真与众不同，他说了什么？

Boy:He was surprised that nobody here makes any music.
他很惊讶这里没有人在创作音乐。

Girl:What did he mean, "nobody makes any music here"? We have music everywhere!
“这里没有人在创作音乐”，这是什么意思？到处都有音乐！

Boy:He mean like spontaneous music, natural stuff, like the birds that just open their mouth and sing.
他是指自发的音乐，那种很自然的东西，就像鸟儿开口就唱。

Girl:You mean like on the train and down the street and anywhere?
像是指像是在火车上、街上、任何地方？

Boy:Get this. In Ireland people break out in song all the time and whistling and humming. They just make music all the time.

Girl:Oh. I guess in that case. we don't make music here at all. We're pretty quiet!
