上班时

Dave and Eric are talking about some of the goings on at work.

迪夫和艾立克上班时谈论着公司里发生的事情。

Dave:Whatever you're up to, you'd better put it on the back burner. It looks like we're goonia be doing Mark's job,too. You won't believe what’s up.

迪夫：不管你手头正忙着什么，最好都先搁一搁。看来我们也要插手去做马克的工作了，你是不会相信发生了什么事的。

Eric:So, give me the lowdown.

艾立克：那你就跟我说说吧。

Dave:Mark is in with the boss getting chewed out for calling in sick again. I'm telling you，the guy gets ripped just about every night and then can't make it in to work the next day. And when he does, he keeps screwing up.

迪夫：马兑因为又打电话请病假，被老板叫了进去，正在遭受斥责呢。我跟你讲，那家伙差不多大天晚上都喝得烂醉，到了第二大又不能来上班，就是来了也总是出差错。

Eric:He can't even cut it when he's stone sober.

艾立克：他就是不喝酒清醒的时候也做不好。

Dave:Well,if he doesn't clean up his act soon，he's going to get himself canned.

迪夫:是啊，他要是还不收敛，肯定会被炒掉的。

Eric:Man, I'm such a wimp that if I downed as much bozze as he does, I'd be barfing my guts up nonstop.

艾立克：嗨，我这人真没用。要是我像他那样喝那么多酒，准会吐得翻肠倒肚的。

Dave:I hear not to mention being zoned the next day too. The thing that gets me is that when Mark drinks, he flies off the handle and starts mouthing off at everyone, then doesn't have a clue why people are ticked off at him the next day.

迪夫: 我看也是。不用说第二天也是恍恍惚惚的。我最恼火的是马克一喝酒就发脾气、见了谁都乱骂。到了第二天，别人朝他发火，他还完全不明是为了什么。
