  Passage one
The first step in stopping drug abuse is knowing why people start to use drugs. The reasons people abuse drugs are as different (as people are) from one another. But there seems to be one common threat. People seem to take drugs to change the way they feel. They want to feel better or to feel happy or to feel nothing. Sometimes they want to forget or to remember. People often feel better about themselves when they are under the influence of drugs. But the effects don’t last long. Drugs don’ t solve problems. They just postpone them. No matter how far drugs may take you, it’s always a round trip. After a while people who misuse drugs may feel worse about themselves and then they will use more and more drugs. If someone you know is using or abusing drugs, you can help. The most important part you can play is to be there. You can let your friends know that you care, you can listen and try to solve problems behind your friend’s need to use drugs. Two people together can solve a problem that seems too big for one person alone. Studies of heavy drug users in the United States show that they felt unloved and unwanted. They didn’t have close friends to talk to. When you or your friend take time to care for each other you will all help to stop drug users. After all, what are friends for?
Questions 26 to 28 are based on the passage you have just heard。
  26. Why do some people abuse drugs?
  27. According to the passage what is the best way to stop friends from abusing drugs?
  28. What are the findings of the studies about heavy drug users?
  Passage Two
Lions prefer to eat without having to do much work. When resting in the shade, they are also watching the sky. And if they see the birds fly down, they immediately sense that something must be happening. Even in the heat of the day, they will certainly arise and run a mile across the plains to find out what is going on. If another animal has made a kill, they will drive it off and take the dead animal for themselves. A grown lion can easily consume 60 pounds of meat at a single feeding. Often, they eat until it seems painful for them to lie down. The female lions are leaner and swifter, and as a result, are better hunters than the males. Most kills are made at night or just before dawn. The kill is the most exciting moment in the day-to-day existence of the lions, since these great beasts spend most of their time—about 20 hours a day--sleeping and resting. Lions are also social cats. And during these times of leisure, they love to romp with each other, and the young lions are always playing among themselves and with their parents。

  31. Why are the females generally better hunters than the males?
