Another tragic milestone was passed Sunday in the coronavirus pandemic: 500,000 deaths worldwide. The reported tally comes from Johns Hopkins University researchers. More than 125,000 of those deaths have been reported in the U.S. Brazil is next with over 57,000 deaths.
President Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted approvingly a video showing one of his supporters champion "White Power," a racist slogan associated with white supremacists. The video appeared to have been taken at the villages, a Florida retirement community. The White House said the president had not heard “the one statement" on the video.
Authorities said a suspect has been arrested in the death of a Kentucky man who was fatally shot amid a protest in Louisville over the killing of Breonna Taylor. Officials said Sunday that the suspect is hospitalized, but did not release his name.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City will held its first indoor Sunday Mass in three months, but capacity will be limited to 25 percent and health precautions including social distancing will be in place to guard against the coronavirus.
