China has authorized its first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine, adding another shot that could see wide use in poor countries as the virus surges globally.
The mayor of New York has set an ambitious goal of vaccinating one million city residents in January. The federal government had set a goal of vaccinating 20 million people across the US by today. But so far, just over two million have received the first shot.
And the animals at the Houston Zoo are enjoying a special meal this holiday season. Zookeepers have hung Christmas trees in the animal habitats. Instead of ornaments, they have decorated the trees with meatballs and mealworms.
