President Joe Biden is making clear that the world should expect a more diplomatically engaged United States. Biden spoke at the State Department Thursday, where he told employees that U.S. diplomats "are the face of America." He also told them, "America is back."

House Democrats on Thursday asked former President Donald Trump to testify under oath for his Senate impeachment trial. The trial starts in earnest on February 9. Trump is charged with inciting a mob of supporters that stormed the Capitol last month.

Embattled representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who's facing a House vote to strip her of committee assignments, says she regrets some "words of the past." The Georgia Republican asserted in a House speech that she is "a very regular American" who posted conspiracy theories from QAnon before she began campaigning for Congress.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats still hope for Republican support for a COVID relief package for the American people. President Joe Biden put forth a $1.9 trillion coronavirus recovery package after which Republicans pitched a slimmed down $618 billion proposal.
