President Trump says an Iranian military drone has been shot down by a US warship in the Gulf. Mr. Trump said the unmanned aircraft came within a thousand meters after the USS boxer in the Strait of Hormuz threatening the safety of its crew. Tensions have been rising since the US began enforcing sanctions against the Iranian oil industry in May.

He said he wasn’t happy about people shouting “Send Her Back” and started speaking very quickly to try to intervene. TV footage shows he paused when the chant erupted.
