The United States and China have both made optimistic assessments about their trade talks. The White house said enormous progress has been made while China said consensus has been reached on principles. However, a BBC correspondent notes that the differences in language indicate more talks will be needed.

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has thought to downplay president Trump's criticism of the Brexit deal he's negotiated with the European Union. Mr. Johnson said the agreement wouldn't stop a free trade deal with the U.S.
