President Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan has agreed on a ceasefire in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib after lengthy talks in Moscow. The ceasefire is to come into effect at midnight Syrian time. Tensions in the region have risen following the killing of more than 30 Turkish troops last week in airstrikes during a Russian-back Syrian government offensive.

Scientists say this winter in Europe has been the warmest on record by far. Data from the EU satellite shows the average temperature on the continent for three months from December to February almost 1.4 degree Celsius higher than the previous record.

A high court in London has found that the billionaire ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum abducted two of his daughters and carried out a campaign of intimidation against his former wife. The court overruled the Sheikh's efforts to keep the findings of the case secret. He says the judgment only gave just one-side of the story.
