Well, that the most important thing is not the specific tactics but the manner in which you approach. You have to put your partner on a better pedestal, even if you know more about money than they do. People hate to be judged for money. So, you might ask them a simple simple question like: hey, do you think I should have a savings account? Is, is that a good idea? What's a good savings account? Or you might even get a little bit more fancy and say, you know, should I be paying off debt or investing? Um, and what you do is you make them feel like an expert and that opens up the conversation.

But, don't you run the risk of seeming patronizing? If you are, let's say, a finance expert, such as yourself. I mean, if you are this, if you would ask your girlfriend that question, she would be like, you know, you're putting me on?

Yeah, I, I, I,,,might go about it in the slightly different ground, but most of us are not financial wear dolls. Most of us are not people who read the interest rate for fun. Most of us don't know overdoing with money. So, you actually might get something out of it, but more importantly, you just need to get the conversation started and remove the barriers that we all have when it comes to talk about money. You know, in the recent survey, people found that people, that some people more likely talk about their sex lives than their financial credit card bills. Now the first question I had was, where are these people? Where do I meet these people? But really what you wanna do is take away that people are very very sensitive about their spending behaviors.

You know, it's true, and for some reason, romance and money make very uneasy bedfellows, it's, it's a very uncomfortable thing to broach with your, when you're being romantic, you know. So, let's talk about how. Cause in your book, you list some phrases people can use when bringing up money. And what are those phrases?

So one of the things you can say is, you know you're really good at (x) , you're really good at paying down your student debt. So I wanna get your advice for handling my money. You know another thing you might be able to say is, um, you know, money is gonna be a part of our lives, so I wanna a talk about it together. And if you are a real, real wear doll, you could say, you know, there are synergies to be had your one plus one equals three, but you can only say that if you are a management consultant or MBA with the straight face.
