On the campus of one of America's most respected universities, there's sadness and fear.

It's just, it's a very sad thing that happened here at the university. Probably go get some Mace or something, and just watch out, be aware of my surroundings and everything.

Last Tuesday, Annie Le, a 24-year-old doctoral student in pharmacology went to work at this laboratory in New Haven, Connecticut. A CCTV camera caught her entering the building. But a few hours later, she disappeared. Police were called when her ID card, money, credit cards and a handbag were found in a third floor office. A thorough search of the five-storey building first uncovered the bloody clothing behind a ceiling tile, then her body.

Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad located the remains of a human, secluded in a wall inside a building, No 10, Amistad Street.
Annie was due to marry her fiance Jonathan Widawsky on Sunday. Police say he isn't a suspect. The university's president offered his condolences.
Our hearts go out to the family of Annie Le, to her fiance, to her friends.

Police say they're analyzing a large amount of physical evidence of the crime scene. Officer is sifting through large bins near the university, and a waste processing plant where the laboratory sends its rubbish. Earlier this year, Annie submitted an article to the campus magazine about crime at university facilities. With a little street smarts she wrote, "One can avoid becoming yet another statistic."
