孩子练瑜伽 健康与娱乐相结合
These four and five-year olds are having fun while taking a yoga class, but it's not for adults, it's designed specifically for young people. They do a little rocking, a little stretching and learn new ways to breathe. And don't forget the strengthening.
"I need to do yoga, so my muscles can grow."
Instructor Cheryl Crawford says that whether you are a beginner or more experienced like these teens, that yoga first builds strength and flexibility.
"And then when you have the balance of strength and flexibility, that's when you're calm and you're calm but you have energy as well."
And as with adults, yoga can help young people reduce stress.
"So what separates yoga from any other form of exercises is the constant awareness of your breath and just by moving with your breath that just starts to get you grounded. Just by doing that."
These children end the class as it began. Now perhaps better grounded, but still having fun.
