会自己择路而行的汽车?
上海世博会展示了一种新型汽车,可以像鱼一样在路上行驶,可以选择适当的路线,不会撞车,不需要人驾驶,也不会污染环境。这对于交通异常繁忙的现代社会来说,无疑是个惊喜。
Traffic jams, car accidents, carbon dioxide emissions... all these problems become worse with more and more cars on the road nowadays. However, these problems may disappear in 2030 by using the new concept vehicles displayed in the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, or SAIC and GM Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo. Under the clear sky, cars travel on the road like swimming fish without crashing into one another. A blind girl drives in a [helmet-like car to her father's concert. A young man gets his girlfriend in a car with a leaf-like roof and veined wheels. A baby is delivered on time as the ambulance meets her mother's car quickly.
The video played in the SAIC-GM Pavilion describes the safe traffic of 2030. The helmet-like car in the video is called NV-I, short for Electric Networked-Vehicle. And the car with a leaf roof is named "Ye Zi", or leaf literally.
Liu Zhimin, a NV-I technician, tells why the car travels freely on the road without operation.
"This car is different from normal cars because of its Automatic Drive and the application of Auto Internet. It can choose the best route itself to a set destination, for the car communicates with others through Auto Internet and then gets the real-time route information. Auto Internet is based on the use of a GPS sensor, an ultrasonic sensor and a dedicated short range communications sensor."
Liu Zhimin also says the car is powered by electricity so it's environmentally friendly. At the same time, it allows manual driving for those who like driving.
Compared to NV-I, the leaf-roof car, or "Ye Zi", tends to be more environmentally friendly because it absorbs carbon dioxide in the air. Gu Yuqing, technician of the "Ye Zi", says this car runs on electricity generated by itself.
"Functioning as a leaf, the roof absorbs solar energy and carbon dioxide from the air. Then, it transforms them into electricity which can power the car. The car also gets power from electricity made from wind, for veins on its wheel can turn wind into electricity. Made of bionic materials and organic metal, the car body can also absorb carbon dioxide and then make it into electricity to ensure the air conditioner in the car works."
Jin Qi, Director of the SAIC-GM pavilion, says he believes they will run on the road in the future.
"In the coming 20 years, if infrastructure construction is well equipped, we believe the new concept car will be hugely popular."
"Drive to 2030". It is the theme of the SAIC-GM pavilion. Jin Qi hopes visitors to this pavilion will see that technology is not cold, but rather human-oriented - and cars can improve people's lives in a better way.
