2010-09-16来源:和谐英语

如何能够更快地找到与你相匹配的工作呢?美国劳工部最新开发名为“我的技能我的未来”的网站将有可能帮到你。让我们一起从本期节目中了解其都有哪些求职新武器吧!

LINDA WERTHEIMER, host:

In this tight job market, our last word in business today is employable skills.

Unidentified Woman: With skills and experience you gained in past jobs, can lead directly to exciting new career paths.

WERTHEIMER: That's from a new website called mySkills myFuture, just launched by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Type in your past jobs, and get related jobs that use the same skills. Gossip blog Gawker points out that the website is a bit picky. If you type in rodeo clown as a past job, an error comes up and says sorry, could not find a career to match.

However, the website will match you with jobs if your past experience was as a mime, an NFL player or a chimney sweep.

WERTHEIMER: A sweep could have a look around for a job as a janitor or a cleaner.

And that's the business news on MORNING EDITION, from NPR News. I'm Linda Wertheimer.

STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Oh, I'm supposed to say my name now? I'm sorry. I was just typing in radio host. Anyway, I'm Steve Inskeep.

(Soundbite of song, "Chim Chim Cheree")

Mr. VAN DYKE (Actor): (As Bert) (Singing) Now, as the ladder of life has been strung, you might think a sweep's on the bottommost rung. Though I spends me time in the ashes and smoke, in this ole wide world there's no happier bloke.

Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey. Chim chim cher-ee. A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be...
