全国各地的校园招聘进行时

2011-10-31来源:CRI

Campus recruitment activities have begun earlier this year, because many companies want to stand out from the fierce recruitment battle. Apart from the conventionally popular international and private companies, many state-owned enterprises and local governments are also rushing into campuses to recruit graduates.

People born in the 1990s have a reputation for individuality. They are the main force of the graduating seniors. What are their standards when choosing a job?

"Nowadays, the state-owned enterprises develop very fast, and they have a large scale with a long history."

"Working in a state-owned enterprise is stable."

Most of the students say they don't like to work under huge pressure; and instead of high salary, they prefer a friendly environment where they are respected for their contributions.

"The most important thing is whether the job can provide me with opportunities to improve my abilities."

"Firstly, the career outlook. Secondly, the salary, and the last one, Hukou, to be able to officially registered as local citizen in Beijing."

In contrast to the students shuttling from various campus recruitment activities, some seniors still live and study as usual: they go to the library and read their favorite books, they log in to online forums and talk about the topics they are interested in. Why? Because they will have a gap year before they start work after graduation. Zheng Xiangyu a senior of Renmin University is one of them.

"During the first half year, I plan to go to an orphanage in Nepal which is involved in international humanitarian missions. In the second half of the year, I plan to go teaching in Guizhou province as a volunteer."

Gap year is a new idea in China, but young students are taking it quickly. Some of them persuade their parents to fund their "know the world" travel plans, but some will support themselves.

Actually, gap year are common in western countries where students take time off and do something other than schooling, such as travel and work. It can be a good thing for students to figure out what they want and what they need before they choose a job without knowing the world as well as themselves.
