宝马在中国举行海外自驾游
Since this year is an Olympic year, the Mission 3 self-drive tour has adopted an Olympic theme.
Three European routes based on former Olympic host cities have been specially tailored for Mission 3 winners to experience the Olympics. Participants will start driving from three different cities-Paris, Amsterdam, Turin-and finish at BMW's headquarters in Munich.
In Turin, the starting point of the Sport Line route, is the host city of the 20th Winter Olympic Games. Participants will have a chance to experience BMW's new 3 series. Amsterdam, the start of Modern Line, was the host city for the 9th Olympic Games in 1928. The route is specially designed for people who are interested in modern lifestyles. On the Luxury Line, which starts in Paris, the former Olympic host city of the 1900 and 1924 Summer Olympic Games, participants will be able to experience their dream luxury lifestyle.
Daniel Kirchert, CEO of BMW China, says the Olympics will be a main theme of BMW events during the entire year, and BMW will sponsor the Chinese Olympic team and athletes.
"This year we will do a lot of things. Actually, next weekend we will have a great event in Guangzhou. This will be the kick off of our whole Olympic movement. Basically, all of our events this year somehow will be linked with the topic of Olympics. We will also support Chinese athletes, and we will also do something to support the former, maybe the Olympic gold winners of China, but more details, we will announce at the next weekend. It's a topic which goes through our whole communication. So there will be a lot of surprises."
Kirchert reveals that in this year's Mission 3 tour, participants will have the chance to experience BMW's brand new 3 series product.
"In the final competition part in Europe, the participants will have the chance to already drive brand new 3 series—6th generation series. And this car will launch later in China, will be the second product our brand new second plant in Shenyang. So we are very much forward looking to the launch of the new series."
Regarding this year's three routes, Kirchert says he expects that the participants will have an unforgettable Europe experience and he wishes them good luck in the competition.
"As for the content of the competition, I think we will make it exciting again. Everyone knows it's about driving, but it's not only about driving—some other parts of the competition as well. So you need to be also smart, quick, and creative from time to time. That's also very natural to the spirit of the three series. I am very happy and confident for this year, the fifth year of Mission 3, that we'll see another great success."
Anyone who is over 18 years of age and has a driver's license can either log on to BMW's official website or call 400 800 6666 to register before June 30th. After rounds of physical, creative and fun competition, in the end, 80 lucky people will have the chance to join this year's amazing Mission 3 Olympics exploration tour.
