美“财富教父”虚假办学被起诉

-Donald Trump is facing a huge lawsuit from the state of New York. The attorney general says that the billionaire mogul's Trump University committed fraud and scam students for thousands of dollars. cnn business correspondent Alison Kosik is joining me from New York. So Alison, what this is all about and how much money is the State trying to get out of Donald Trump.

-Well, they're trying to get $40 million for what the New York State Attorney General Office says it wrongly took from people who took these classes at Trump School. ow, we know Donald Trump. He hasn't shied away from public dust-ups, but if you look at somebody’s allegations, it’s really shocking considering he is one of the most famous billionaires.  considering Donald Trump is one of the most famous billionaires.

Now, New York State is suing Donald Trump and his investment school Trump University for making false promises about its classes with the lawsuit calling it an elaborated bait and switch. The lawsuit says that students were told that they took part in seminars that they could learn Donald Trump's investing techniques.

The lawsuit's claims read like a menu of accusations. saying in part that the university,which the attorney general Eric Schneiderman says,  wasn't a licensed university at all,that it was a sham, that it lured prospective students to a free 90-minute seminar that really was just a sales pitch for another seminar to really get them into a 3-day $1500 seminar and that once they were in the 3-day seminar,it became what as the lawsuit calls an up-sell to pay for yet another year long seminar that cost 35000 dollars.

One thing interesting that I saw in this lawsuit,Fredricka, is that Schneiderman is alleging that these speakers who were teaching these students urged these students to call their credit card companies during breaks in the sessions to request increases in their credit limits for what the speaker says real estate transactions but the State says in reality it was so students could buy even more classes with this Trump University.

-Oh,I get it,so now what is the response coming from Donald Trump himself?

-OK,one lawyer talked with cnn saying that the suit has no merit,it's nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt to deflect from Schneiderman's weak job performance,saying maybe that Schneiderman's office,the attorney general office should pay more of their attention on the use of tax dollars and bring into justice those who were responsible for the financial meltdown,that  coming from the lawyer.And of course,we know Donald Trump,definitely not hesitating to speak out on twitter,he tweeted today saying, lightweight NY state attorney general Eric Schneiderman is trying to extort me with a civil lawsuit.And then you can also see if you go on to Donald Trump's twitter feet,you can see how he was retweeting a lot of people who are supporting him as this lawsuit goes back and forth.

-Wow,it's a messy situation,all right and what Alison tells me is just the tip of the iceberg.
