豪车市场遭遇反垄断调查
Industry insiders are suggesting the Chinese government's anti-monopoly investigations of some foreign luxury car brands sold in China are coming to an end.
It's being reported that local authorities in Shanghai and Hubei have confirmed infractions by Chrysler and Audi in China.
Daimler AG's luxury brand Mercedes-Benz is still under investigation.
A spokesperson with Mercedes-Benz says the company is cooperating with Chinese authorities over the anti-trust investigation.
Mercedes-Benz has just announced its second price cut for spare parts in China, making the move over the weekend.
Industry insiders including Zeng Zhiling, chief manager of British automobile consultancy LMC Automotive, say there has to be some fundamental changes in the sector.
"The antitrust probe is to investigate what's the reason for the monopoly and what kind of mechanism has helped its formation. If the regulation on automobile management does not change, then the anti-trust probe will only be a form."
Mercedes-Benz is the first car company to be targeted by China's National Development and Reform Commission.
