中国军机亮相珠海航展
Chinese fighter jet J-31 will be unveiled alongside the large military transport aircraft Y-20 at the upcoming 10th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in the southern port city of Zhuhai.
Developed by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, the J-31 -- also known as Gyrfalcon -- is a twin-engine, mid-size fifth-generation jet fighter. The Y-20, officially launched in 2006, is a large military transport aircraft.
As the biggest aircraft in China, the 200-ton aircraft can be used for long-distance transportation under complex weather conditions, and is capable of conducting relief operations and humanitarian assistance.
Aside from J-31 and Y-20, a series of other domestically-produced drones including KJ-2000, KJ-200, and J-10 models, is also expected to showcase, according to sponsors of the air show event.
Fly stunts are also part of the event's itinerary, where it will be performed by Y-20, KJ-2000, KJ-200 and many other aircraft designs at the air show.
According to the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force, it will exhibit 18 active-duty aviation and six ground planes at the show to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the PLA force.
The biennial air show, featuring new aircraft as well as trade talks and technology exchanges, is expected to attract nearly 700 enterprises from 41 different countries or regions this year.
