From the cnn center in Atlanta, I'm Nicole Lapin. Thanks so much for checking in with us today. Here's a look at what's happening right NOW IN THE NEWS.

One of our affiliates WBMA is now reporting that at least six people were hurt when this train derailed in west Alabama. State Emergency Management officials say that a railroad bridge basically collapsed, causing the train to then crash. County officials are still trying to secure the site and also start cleaning up the wreckage.

A House vote to override President Bush's veto of the Iraq war supplement bill has failed. Democrats weren't able to get the 2/3 majority needed to do it. Well, meanwhile, the president was meeting with congressional leaders in hopes of drafting a brand-new bill to fund the war.

This is coming at the same time as two Iowa communities nearly ran out of gasoline over the weekend because of snags at refineries. Experts say it was an isolated situation but it also warns to illustrate just how tight US gas has become.

And the search is on for a couple of brazen bandits who robbed an armored truck in broad daylight. It all happened in the Hialeah Gardens, in Florida. And police say two men approached two security guards while they were, with the vehicle, making a delivery at a check cashing store. At least two shots were fired and then he says the men grabbed a bagful of money, jumped into a waiting car and then took off. And the culprits even got away with more than a million bucks.

And it took two tries to finally bring down this 75-year-old bridge in Cleveland and there it went. Crew set off a series of blasts last night to try to topple what was left of the bridge. They had tried to blow it apart on Saturday. But only one third of it exploded because of faulty detonating cords. Well, a new bridge should be built in its place by the year 2009.
