Last week this neighborhood was one of the most lively in eastern Mosul, now it looks like this.

Friday suicide bombing at the ‘My Beautiful Lady’ restaurant not only killed a named people,it is also had a devastating psychological effect as well.

The first time we came to this restaurant about a month ago, shortly after it opened.The symbolism was unstatable, it felt like Mosul was truly coming back to life.

But on Friday at least three suicide bombers attacked civilian areas in Mosul, including this restaurant.

And soldiers in one area say they shot and killed another would be bomber,as well as a militant driving a car set to explode.

All day long today we’ve been hearing warnings from civilians and soldiers to stay under awnings as much as possible, and not to stand in large groups.

They say Islamic State drones, often armed with bombs,are flying over eastern Mosul in greater numbers than last week.

Soldiers say armed drones injure at least 20 people every day, most of them are civilians.
