印度总理誓言找到孟买袭击者

The Indian Prime Minister has pledged to make every effort to find those responsible for Wednesday's attacks on Mumbai. Manmohan Singhs flew to the city to meet the victims of the triple bomb blasts. There he expressed his deep condolences to the victims and their families.

He said, "There has been remarkable coordination of effort between the center and the state government. Now our task is to find out who the culprits are, and how we can work together to bring them to book. I once again convey my deepest condolences to those who have lost their dear ones, to the injured and their families, I pray that they will recover to their normal health soon."

The blasts have sent shock waves across India. In New Delhi, police are being deployed for blanket intensive security inspection and patrolling. Security has also been tightened at Lucknow's Amausi airport.

Airport Authority officials carried out a thorough inspection of the terminal. Passengers were frisked at the entry point and identity cards were screened. Irregularly parked vehicles were asked to moved away.

Bangalore, and southern Indian's Madras near Mumbai, have also been put on alert. Police in the northern state of Assam have averted a repeat of the Mumbai blasts in Baska district near the capital Guwahati. They seized four containers of explosive materials in a carrier vehicle, but the driver escaped. Police identified one of the bombs as Ammonium Nitrate, but final word is pending results of forensic tests.
