童话故事《白雪公主》回归

2012-05-20来源:CCTV9

Who says fairy tales are for children? Hollywood is bringing the happily ever after back, hoping to woo recession-hit cinema audiences with tales with a modern twist. Two versions of the classic Snow White have already hit the screens this year and one more is on its way.

"Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart is the latest adaptation of the classic Brothers Grimm story.

With economic gloom and doom overshadowing almost every aspect of daily life, audiences are showing an insatiable appetite for tales which can take them to far away lands. Where the evil power surrenders to the power of good.

Actress Kristen Stewart, who plays Snow White in the action-packed blockbuster, believes the old story resonates in modern times.

Kristen Stewart said, "People are generally the same, like we care about each other, and fairytales usually say that you should be a good person and this is just one way of saying that."

For Charlize Theron, playing the jealous Queen, the film is different from prior versions because it goes back to the original idea.

Charlize Theron said, "We just tried to maybe go back to the old Brothers Grimm, the way that is was intended to be of somewhere dark and we set it in an incredible world, it’s epic, it’s big."

Since the first edition of the book in 1812, Snow White is a tale that has been told time and time again.

The movie is out in the UK on May 30 and in the US on June 1.
