The search efforts for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has entered the 29th day. Time is ticking to find the black box, with only three day left before the batteries run out.
Australia’s Joint Agency Coordination Center has determined a search area of about 217,000 square kilometers, about 1,700 kilometers north west of Perth. Today’s search area will focus on three areas within the same vicinity. Up to 10 military planes, 3 civil jets and 11 ships will be taking part in today’s search.
The UK Royal Navy survey ship HMS Echo and Australian Royal Navy ship Ocean Shield will continue the underwater hunt. China’s IL-76 transport aircraft has departed from Perth International Airport for the target area. The weather forecast for today’s search is fair, with possible rain in the search area. On Friday, a total of 14 aircrafts and nine ships took part in the search.
