美国起诉3名俄罗斯间谍

The United States has charged three Russian citizens over their alleged involvement in a Russian spy ring operating in New York City.

According to a complaint filed in a federal court in Manhattan, the defendants conspired to gather intelligence on potential U-S sanctions against Russian banks, and U-S efforts to develop alternative energy resources, among other subjects. They also sought to recruit New York residents into the Kremlin's foreign intelligence service.

Prosecutors said one defendant, Yevgeny Buryakov, posed as an employee in the Manhattan branch of a Russian bank. He was arrested on Monday in the Bronx. The two other suspects, Igor Sporyshev and Victor Podobnyy, are believed to have returned to Russia.
