Riddle Guessing was always a tradition associated with China's Lantern Festival, which falls on the fifteenth day of the new year or the last official day of the Spring Festival celebration.

In an effort to revive the once-popular game, CCTV are, once again, hosting a Riddle Guessing competition, which will have contestants and television viewers all over China tearing their hair out trying to come up with answers.

This is the second season of CCTV's Riddle Guessing Competition. The finals are being broadcast on CCTV over the three days leading up to the Lantern Festival.

Each of the finals is the result of four rounds of competition, and the finalists will battle it out in front of millions of TV viewers all around the country.

In an effort to enhance the viewing experience, the producers decided to increase the numbers of riddles and the number of rounds of competition. They also decreased the number of teams, from ten to eight.

And it's not just for the participants. The television audience can also try, using dedicated apps on their cell phones or computers. They can try their luck in winning prizes by submitting their own answers. The competition will be broadcast live from Tuesday to Thursday.
