阮富仲连任越共总书记
Nguyen Phu Trong has been re-elected as Vietnam’s Communist Party chief. The Party’s newly-elected 12th Central Committee voted him General Secretary Wednesday.
The central committee held its first plenary session to also elect the Politburo, Secretariat, Central Inspection Commission and Head of Central Inspection Commission at its headquarters. According to the timetable, the election results should be reported to the 12th National Party Congress today.
After the debut of the new central committee, the new General Secretary will deliver a speech at the National Party Congress.
Trong, 71, joined the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1967. He was elected General Secretary of the 11th CPVCC in January 2011.
