“下雨”的主语是it还是the weather

“下雨”的主语是it还是the weather

汉语常说“天在下雨（雪）”，但是说成英语时，习惯上要用 it 作主语，而不能用 the weather 作主语。如：

明天会下雨吗?

误：Will the weather rain tomorrow?

正：Will it rain tomorrow?

更多实例：

It hasn’t rained for months.  已经几个月没下雨了。

I don’t think it’s going to rain.  我认为不会下雨。

She put up her hood when it started to rain.  下雨了，她把风帽拉了起来。

We ran for cover as it started to rain.  开始下雨时，我们跑着找地方避雨。

The sky looks very grey.  I think it’s going to rain.  天色看起来非常阴暗，我想快要下雨了。

但是，如果不是用动词rain表示“下雨”，也可以有其他比较灵活的表达：

The sky was dull, with a foreboding of rain.  天空灰蒙蒙的，好像要下雨了。

The weather had been rainy for days, and the day of the race was no exception.  天一直下雨，比赛那天也不例外。
