catch up with 赶上

短语catch up with主要用来表示“赶上，追上”。此外，该习惯用语还可以用来指“在功课等方面赶上”。另外，该习惯用语还可以指 “逮捕或处罚”。

【对话】

A: I really want to give up my studies.

A: 我真想放弃我的学业了。

B: What? How can you say so?

B: 什么？你怎么能这么说呢？

A: I can't catch up with my classmates, I can't follow the teacher in class.
