M: It was presented by the people of France to the people of the United States in 1886 to honor the friendship between the two nations. Nowadays we consider it to be a symbol of liberty throughout the world.

又称自由照耀世界（Liberty Enlightening The World），是法国在1876年赠送给美国的独立100周年礼物。美国的自由女神像位于美国纽约州纽约市哈德逊河口附近，是雕像所在的美国自由岛的重要观光景点。美国的自由女神像以法国巴黎卢森堡公园的自由女神像作蓝本，法国著名雕塑家巴托尔迪历时10年艰辛完成了雕像的雕塑工作，女神的外貌设计来源于雕塑家的母亲，而女神高举火炬的右手则是以雕塑家妻子的手臂为蓝本。自由女神穿着古希腊风格的服装，所戴头冠有象征世界七大洲及五大洋的七道尖芒。
