P: Dr Prince, how are you enjoying it so far?
P: 普林斯博士，到目前为止，你玩得开心吗？

VP: Well, I must say it's very exciting to be in Russia.
VP: 哦，我得说俄罗斯真令人兴奋。

P: I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. Today, Red Square and the Krenllin.
P: 很高兴你能喜欢。今天我们去红场和克里姆林官看看。

VP: Wonderful! I can see the Kremlin over diere, on the left. And across there is the historic merchant quarter, known as "kitai  Gorod".
VP：太好了！我能看到那边的克里姆林官，在左侧。穿过去是历史上著名的商业区．就是大家熟知的“中国城”。

P: The square separates the Kremlin, the former royal citadel and currendy the official residence of the President of Russia, from kirai Gorod
P：红场把克里姆林宫和“中国城”分隔开。前者是以前王室的城堡，现在是俄罗斯总统的官邸。

VP: I think the reason that most people say this is the centre of Moscow. even Russia, is because all the major streets go from here out to the highways.

P: Yes, that's true. Do you know the history of the square, its name for example?
P：是的，就是这样。你知道这个广场的历史吗？比如说它的名字？

VP: The name Red Square derives from the Russian word "krasnaya" which means "red".
VP:红场的名字源于俄语单词krasnaya．意思是“红色”。

P: Spot on! Also, it was first known as the centre many years ago, in the 1400s. The land that the Red Square is situated on was origjnally covered with wooden buildings, which were dangerously susceptible to fires.
P：完全正确！此外，很多年以前，大约在15地纪，最早小名是因为它是市巾心。它所在的地方原来到处是木结构楼房．非常危险，容易引起火灾。

VP: I see.  So, it gradually came to serve as Moscow's primary marketplace. I know that it had other functions too, such as being used for various public ceremonies and occasionally as the coronation site for Russia's tsars.

P: As you can see, it's a very special and important place.  On to the Kremlin !

VP: The Kremlin is a national sanctuary and a unique crearion of world culture. It stands on the left bank of the Moscow River, where it joins the Neglinnaya River.
VP：克里姆林官是国家神圣的场所，是世界文化中独一无一．．的建筑艺术品。它位于莫斯科河的左岸，与涅格林纳河交汇的地方。

P: Yes. over there as you said.  It used to be built of wood, but again suffered from many Tainitsky Tower.
P: 是的，就像你刚才说的，它就在那边。过去是木头结构，也多次发生火灾。于1485年重建，当时还建了泰尼斯卡亚塔。

VP: So, from then on they used it in the defense of the state. And now, of course it too is made of red brick.

P: Today,as in the old day, the square is always full of people. Numerous groups of tourists from different cities in Russia and oveneas come to admire the beauty of these architectural masterpieces.
