叫人爆料，英文系 spill it。但中文说爆，英文怎地用spill（倒泻、溢出）这个字呢？

因为原话是 spill the beans，直译倒泻一箩豆，是指小至把不应说的话说了出去，大至打正旗号告密去。现代用法将之简化，删了豆的一笔，净讲spill。这个spill，解let out（诉说）。

很明显，spill the beans 这个倒泻箩豆的景象，纵使视觉上甚是麻烦狼狈，但跟我们口语说的“倒泻箩蟹”没有关系。而 spill the beans 字面虽然也有“撒豆”之意，亦跟“撒豆成兵”一语完全沾不上边。例句：
