be expecting

讲解：expect sb的意思是“确知某人要来而等待他”，正如一位准母亲等待孩子出生的心情，所以expecting表示“怀孕”，该习语为非正规的口语表达方式。

英语情景对话：

A: Where are you going?
你去哪儿？

B: I'll accompany my wife to the hospital.
我陪妻子去医院。

A: What's wrong with her.
她怎么了？

B: She is expecting.
她怀孕了。

A: Congratulations to you.
