brazen it out

讲解:brazen是动词,意思是“(无耻地)做某事”。短语brazen it out意思就是“(做某事后)显出若无其事的样子”。

支持范例:

Eg. Would the prisoner brazen it out or break down and confess?
这囚犯会厚着脸皮干下去还是会停下来认罪?

Eg. When the police caught the thief in the act; he tried to brazen it out.
当警察当场抓住那个小偷时,他还企图抵赖。

Eg. Although his deception have is discover, he decide to brazen it out.
虽然他的骗术已被人发现,他仍决定厚着脸皮挺着。

英语情景对话:

A: Didn't Joe feel it a shame to live on his parents since he has graduated from college?
难道Joe大学毕业后仍靠父母生活不觉得难为情吗?

B: He has no sense.
他没有一点感觉。

A: If I were him, I wouldn’t brazen it out by asking my parents for money.
我要是他的话,我不会厚颜无耻地想父母伸手要钱的。

1.live on:靠…生活

Eg. He has barely enough money to live on.
他的钱仅够勉强维持生计。

Eg. The widow must live on her slender pittance.
那寡妇只能靠自己微薄的收入过活。

2.have no sense:没有感觉,没有意识到

Eg. Only those who have no sense of shame can do such shameful things.
只有不要脸的人才能做出这样不要脸的事。

Eg. They have no sense of their own!
你们自己就没有脑筋!

Eg. She has no sense of propriety.
她没有分寸感。

Eg. You really have no sense of gratitude.
你这人真没良知。

3.ask sb for sth:向某人要某物

Eg. You might ask him for advice on this matter.
这事可以让他给你参谋一下。

Eg. You're too proud to ask him for help.
你太傲慢了,你别想请求他帮你什么忙。

Eg. You go in and soften father up, and then I'll ask him for the money.
你进去先用好话软化父亲,然后,我再去向他要钱。

Eg. Tom is so infirm of purpose that it is useless to ask him for advice.
汤姆这人优柔寡断,向他征求意见是徒劳无益的。
