You wanna get on TV? 'In your dreams!'
你想上电视?做梦吧!
That phrase came in during the 1990s.
In your dreams这个短语出现在上个世纪90年间。
It meant someone is being unrealistic, very optimistic, very hopeful.
指的是,不现实,对什么东西太过积极乐观充满希望。
Any circumstances in which expectations are raised - in your dreams!
梦境是孕育期望的地方——在梦里,什么都可以实现。
It mixes two senses of the word 'dream' - what happens when you're asleep, of course, and the sense of day dream or reverie - it's a very general use.
